My February Ipsy was a pretty good bag. The theme was “Much Love” and the bag was a throwback to your favorite pair of jeans with a denim bag and orange accents. It’s not my favorite bag, but the contents inside were excellent!
Nyx Butter Lipstick In LifeGuard
This is a gorgeous red lipstick and is very high shine. I haven’t worn it yet, because I don’t wear much red lipstick to work. I have swatched it though, and it’s creamy and really pigmented, but it isn’t too bright. It’s definitely a wearable color and I really do like it. I always love a full sized-product!
IBY Beauty Highlighter in Bubbly
Other than the cheap packaging, this is a sweet little highlight. I dropped it as I pulled it out of the bag and the plastic hinge snapped off (just my luck). It is a gorgeous pinky-champagne color. It’s a more wearable highlight, in the sense that you don’t have to worry about putting too much on at one time. It’s very buildable and can be worn anywhere. It would make a great eyeshadow shade too. I would wear it as a wash of color when I need to get out the door quickly. Don’t panic if a finger swatch doesn’t blow you away… I wasn’t impressed with it either, but it wears a lot better than it swatches.
Promise Organic Nourishing Coconut Milk Daily Facial Scrub
I’ve received a moisturizer from this brand before and liked it so I’m fairly excited for this product. I’ll definitely try this product when I need a new scrub, but I’ll stick to what I have for now. This scrub smells super sweet and coconutty (hello paradise), but I’m worried it might be a little sticky on the skin.
Elizabeth Mott What Up Beaches Matte Bronzer
This is a great light, matte bronzer. I’m so sad at how tiny the sample is because I love the shade so much. It’s very neutral so you will never have to worry about looking orange or muddy. It’s very soft and blendable, but doesn’t kick up a lot of product when you dip your brush into it. I may purchase the full size, if I think it’s a good Hoola dupe for less.
Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Blush Brush 514
I know I can’t be the only one who loves getting makeup brushes in my subscription box, and my February Ipsy was no exception. I have heard amazing things about their brushes and have received the small angled liner brush before (meh, I never use it), but I’m really excited about this one. It’s really soft and has synthetic fibers, which is great for applying blush. I wish the hairs were a little shorter, but I can’t wait to put this baby to the test. Did I mention it’s really pretty?
Left to Right: What Up Beaches, Bubbly, and Life Guard swatched one layer, and then a second later. Below is the same, but with flash!
All in all, my February Ipsy bag was a treat this month, but I plan on cancelling it in the next month or so for the Play by Sephora box. I’m just in the mood to try something new, and I’ve had my eyes on that one.
If you have any questions about Ipsy or the products I received in my bag, just let me know. What did you get in your Ipsy bag this month?
