Recently, I was lucky enough to receive a full sized bottle of Valentia’s Night Revive Retinol Serum to review. Prior to this, I had never heard of Valentia before, but this is a brand I can definitely get behind!
Who Is Valentia?
In short, this brand’s name is derived from the Roman Goddess of healing. And just like her, Valentia’s line of skin care products is natural and organic. They have a solid range of skin care products including moisturizers, scrubs, and serums with properties to fight the natural aging of your skin.
Our loyalty and commitment to our customers’ voices and devotion to natural ingredients ensures that not only will those around you notice a difference in your complexion but you can present yourself each day feeling like… a Goddess.
What Is Valentia’s Night Revive Retinol Serum?
This overnight serum is created with Retinol (obviously), Vitamins A,C, and E, and Squalane. It says it will soften your skin, combat wrinkles, improve skin tone, manage breakouts, and stimulate collagen, and condition your skin.
Okay, So What Do I Think?
I was pleasantly surprised by this serum. Retinol has a reputation for drying skin and leaving it feeling tight and as if it will crack open. But, this serum did not have that effect at all. I have used it every night for almost a week along with my night time moisturizer. I woke up every day with my skin feeling soft, fresh, and hydrated. It’s not heavy to wear on your skin nor and it doesn’t look like an oil slick.
Valentina’s Night Revive Retinol Serum made my skin feel seriously rejuvenated, and to me, it looked like my fine lines and wrinkles that are starting to show up around my eyes and my forehead (thanks to my over dramatic facial expressions) were smaller after using this each night for several days. Just using a moisturizer alone leaves my skin feeling hydrated, but pairing this serum with my moisturizer took my skin to a whole new level.
The serum bottle mentions that if you have redness occur due to usage (not a breakout), to space out your usage to once every 2-3 days until your skin adjusts to the retinol. I didn’t have any problems with redness from using this product, but I, for the most part, do not have sensitive skin. The only products that I have found that break me out are Mary Kay products (even the sensitive skin… I have no idea what it is).
I will advise to remove all makeup first and have clean skin before applying the serum. I drew up about half of the dropper with the serum and dotted five to seven tiny drops around my face and then gently massaged the serum to evenly cover my face. A little of this stuff goes a long way, so this serum will last a long time. Wait a few minutes (five-ish) until this serum has absorbed into the skin to apply your nighttime moisturizer and you are set for bed!
If you apply your moisturizer too soon after applying the retinol serum it kind of gathers in little white spots on your face and almost solidifies (I don’t know really how to describe it…. but trust me on this one!). I didn’t wait one night because I was super tired, but whatever– I was going to bed, it’s not the end of the world. If you’re like me and don’t wash your face every morning ,I also recommend using a micellar water or makeup wipe to cleanse your skin in the morning before putting on your daytime moisturizer and makeup.
This full sized 1.18 ounce bottle of the serum retails for $35.00 in the US and can be found either at Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H54PU4Y\ (with free shipping if you have a Prime membership!) or here on Valentia’s site: http://valentia.com . Valentia was kind enough to give me a coupon code for 20% off of any of their products — this code works on Amazon also. Just enter the code: PXVWVXKQ at checkout.

Thank you so much Valentia, for giving me the opportunity to try out this serum. I love it and will most definitely be adding this to my daily skincare routine! I can’t wait to try more of your products. I just want to reiterate that this serum was sent to me for free to review.
