Ipsy: September Glam Bag

Kristin Marie September Ipsy Preview

I received my September Ipsy a couple weeks ago. Let me just say… IPSY came through!

My first impression of the bag was kind of meh. I was worried I wouldn’t like the products, but I was in love with the bag itself [black and gold is my life]. But after trying some of the products out, I changed my mind. No disappointment here! I had to take a step back and remind myself the point is to try new products and break out of my comfort zone a little more!

Kristin Marie September Ipsy Products

This month I received the Seraphine Botanicals Guava Butter lip and cheek balm, Dirty Little Secret eyeshadow pot in Teaser, Eau Thermale Avene’s Hydrance Optimal Hydrating Serum, It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara in Super Black, and Buff Her House of Exfoliation, Vanilla Almond Crumbles.

I’m going to be honest and say I haven’t tried the hydrating serum or the mascara because I already have multiple mascaras and moisturizers in use. I don’t want to open and dry out more that I can use later!

I have tested and swatched the others, as you can see (well, not the face exfoliator because I used it in the shower!).

The Guava Butter lip and cheek duo has a weird taste and scent to it, so I don’t think I’ll use it on my lips very often, if at all… but it does make a gorgeous cheek stain/blush. To apply, I just used a makeup brush and dabbed gently at the stick and then applied it in a stippling motion to my cheeks. It was really pretty guys!

The DLS eyeshadow swatches a decent pigmentation and is solidly even. It looks a little patchy on my arm, but I really like this. It’s a great warm, matte, medium brown shade. I used it with my Morphe 35O palette for a transition shade. I’m a fan and I will be using this one up!

The Buff Her Vanilla Almond Crumbles is a very cool product. It’s an exfoliator that only sends you the dry exfoliant. It doesn’t have all the cream and liquid additives. I’m a huge fan of being able to grab a pinch of exfoliator, wetting my hands, and scrubbing away the dead skin. It’s rougher than my St. Ives Green Tea Scrub but isn’t painful on the skin. It’s a tiny travel-friendly sample jar, which I will rinse out and reuse for sure once I run out of this!

I’ve had Ipsy since July and I haven’t been disappointed yet! They are a very unique, and affordable subscription service. For $10.00 a month plus tax, you are sent a makeup bag with 5 deluxe samples inside! Sometimes they send full sized products – I have gotten a full sized product in two of my three bags. I believe each bag is valued at atleast $55.00. One of the main reasons I think Ipsy is so great is because it is customized to you. You take a survey when you sign up (which you can take as many times as you want – every month if you want) and they tailor your bag each month to your preferences. You review products through Ipsy’s site and earn rewards that you can redeem for more products in their store! They also have awesome giveaways you can enter to win each month.

If you’re interested, here’s my referral link to their site. If you sign up using this link I will earn rewards points towards Ipsy store products. I don’t earn money or anything like that.

I have way too many mascaras as well but I really like IT Cosmetics so I decided to open it and try it. It is definitely my new favorite and I have been stuck on my same favorites forever!

I’m definitely going to have to check it out soon then! I’m really loving my Sephora 7 in 1. (I don’t know what the heck all 7 things it’s supposed to do… but it rocks!)

The scrub sounds great! Wish I’d gotten that instead of the dry conditioner…

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

The dry conditioner concept is interesting, though! It could be fun to try! But you know how they always send things for a couple of months, so you might still get it soon!

I’m not sure what country you’re in, but there are a lot of subscription services now! There might be one that ships to you!
