Hi lovelies!

About two weeks ago, I went to my local drugstore (CVS) to pick up a few things and couldn’t help myself when I saw the makeup section. I talked myself off of a very high ledge with a lot of products, but still picked up the Wet N’ Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Polish. Here’s why:

  1. Nail polish never stays on my fingernails. Like ever.
  2. It only cost $3.99 and there was a $1.oo off coupon on the bottle.

I got it in the shade Peri-wink-le Of An Eye. It’s gorgeous… A little brighter than a typical periwinkle color… almost Carolina Blue, but it’s so pretty. As a matter of fact, I think I might put it on again once I’m done posting this! I can’t help myself.
periwinkle of an eyeTo prepare, I clipped my nails and filed the edges smooth, and then took one of the four-sided filing/buffing blocks and used the filing side to rough up the top of each nail. I didn’t do it very hard mind you because I don’t want to ruin my nails. I clipped the cuticles back, too.

To apply the polish, I put on two coats of it and let it dry in between. And that’s it.

This is not my picture, but it shows the color payoff really well! For photo owner, see the watermark!

The Results: It lasted about a week with me at work doing paperwork and typing, and even survived several trips to the gym! I’m very tough on my hands, but this actually lasted my friends! It applied smoothly and streak free. It wasn’t lumpy and didn’t separate (Essie does this sometimes and I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong?!). The color was bright and true to the name/bottle color. I’m very pleased! Next time I get a color that I’m after, I will definitely be looking to Wet N’ Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel first.
